A really beautiful book -- the illustrations are wonderful and it will facilitate conversations between parents and their children about the moral and ethical concerns with respect to our interactions with animals. However the language at times seems a bit advanced and/or may be confusing for young children -- so I'd very much recommend that parents read this book with WITH their children so that they can help them to understand what the rhyming verses are saying.A really beautiful book -- the illustrations are wonderful and it will facilitate conversations between parents and their children about the moral and ethical concerns with respect to our interactions with animals. Summary:
Absolutely loved this book! It's like being in class with a favorite college professor all over again. Very short quick read, easy to understand, extraordinary compelling points. Dr. Ponessee explains what happened to her when she opted to exercise her fundamental human right of informed consent, and chose to NOT be injected with a rushed to market, liability free product, with zero long term data of its impacts. She lost her job. But she felt that as a philosophy professor, she must resist, not just for herself, but to set an example for students of how to behave ethically when faced with tyranny and injustice. Very inspiring. But terribly sad, to think that the widespread policies the world just put into place -- probably removed from the teaching profession many of the very best teachers.Absolutely loved this book! .
This Excellent documentary is about how a small group of citizens who were disturbed by government abuse of power (especially the FBI under the direction of Edgar Hoover) successfully broke into a small FBI office in Media, Pa, and stole files, which documented egregious abuse of power via widespread surveillance of private citizens exercising their freedom of speech.
.
This group then sent these files anonymously to the press. They were never caught. After decades -- they have decided to come forward and tell their story -- which has tremendous relevance to what is going on today -- especially with regards to Edward Snowden, and the extensive public-private partnerships that use taxpayer dollars to facilitate the interests of billionaire philanthrocapitalists -- all for, "our own good."

Informed consent is a foundation of the ETHICAL practice of medicine. Medical procedures -- even those with the very best odds or when needed to address serious situations -- have potential risks.
.
We condemn what Nazi doctors did, or American doctors in the 1970s at Tuskegee, or the idea of forcing medical procedures on anyone against their wishes, or without their knowledge, because we believe the right to weigh benefits and risks for ourselves and to have sovereignty over our own body is everyone's right.
.
But how can we really give our informed consent to vaccines, unless we have access to the real facts regarding the benefits and risks for each individual vaccine?
.
Yet we live in a time, when even QUESTIONING a particular vaccine, it's necessity, or it's safety record...get's us branded as, "Anti-vaccine." Many pediatricians today even have office policies in opposition to informed consent -- if you don't follow the established vaccine schedule, you can't be part of their practice. How can you even have a real conversation with a doctor, if s/he is of this mindset? Not only that, if your doctor IS actually willing to discuss the risks/benefits with you, odds are they are completely ignorant about the dozens and dozens of studies that suggest a very different set of risks/benefits, then what is universally assumed to be the case by those in the employ of the medical-industrial complex .
.
That is why this is such a great book. Each page is dedicated to a single published scientific study. It is summarized, referenced and explained in enough detail that any parent can understand. This book is an eye-opener. Read it so that you truly can give your informed consent. Our children deserve nothing less.Informed consent is a foundation of the ETHICAL practice of medicine. We've all heard so many lies about Autism and vaccines repeated so many times, that most of us don't even realize they are lies...for example the idea that an abundance of well-done studies show that vaccines do not cause autism.
.
It turns out that of all those studies claiming to "disprove" any link, they've only ever put ONE vaccine, and ONE vaccine ingredient to the test, Gosh -- you'd think for any credible scientist to state that it's been proven there is no link --- they'd at least have looked at say...TWO of the more than a dozen different vaccines given to most children right?
.
But it turns out that lie is just the tip of the iceberg.
.
So any scientist or doctor who tells you there is no link and this issue has been conclusively settled, is either sadly misinformed or intentionally misleading the public. Either way we'd all be wise to not consider them credible on this subject,
.
I could not put this book down! The writing is clear, begins with a page turner, and is so loaded with interesting relevant, mind-blowing information -- I wish every parent could read what this highly educated, deep-thinker, parent of a child with autism has to teach the rest of us.

The Peanut Allergy EpidemicThe Peanut Allergy Epidemic, UnknownWhat's Causing It and How to Stop It
by Fraser, Heather A.Unknown - 2017Unknown, 2017
Added Mar 25, 2019
Comment:
When I was in grade school in the 1960s-70s I never heard of anyone with a peanut allergy. I knew of exactly one case of someone with asthma. Her diagnosis stood out in my mind for two reasons: First because she didn't have to run laps in gym class, (which I envied at the time) and second because her disease, "Asthma" was so rare. I virtually never heard of any other cases for at least ten more years. Allergy, Asthma, Autism and ADHD, are referred by many as the, "Four A's," (Although I think it should be 5 A's and include autoimmune disease.) There is much overlap in the populations afflicted each of these.
.
In 1941 Allergist Warren Vaughan wrote what appears to be the very first book to explain to the public what an allergy was. It was titled, Strange Malady. That book also documents milk, egg, strawberry and wheat as the most significant allergies at that time. There was no mention of peanuts as a trigger for allergies.
.
Allergy to Peanuts first appears sporadically in the medical literature about 1948. From that point on, mention of peanut allergies begins to increase, but it wasn't until the 1990s that discussion of peanut allergy in the medical literature explodes.
In the 1990's, Canadian author Heather Fraser was the new mother of a one year old, when she first became aware of peanut allergies. Her family history could not explain why her own baby suddenly developed life-threatening anaphylaxis from peanuts. From then on carrying an epi-pen became more important than bringing diapers and snacks. When her son turned five and went for the first time to kindergarten, Fraser discovered that her son was part of an avalanche of deathly allergic children presenting themselves to public schools for the first time. Her family's tragedy was being experienced simultaneously by many others, and in multiple countries around the world all at the same time. This has been one of the greatest medical mysteries of our time -- why so many peanut allergies appearing all of a sudden? Why did they first appear simultaneously in many (but not all!) countries at about the same time?
.
Fraser wanted to know the answers to these questions and began to do her own research. The result is one of the most extraordinarily well documented, evidenced-based medical hypothesis I have ever encountered. First she reviews an extensive body of evidence going back more than a hundred years showing that allergy and immunity are two sides of the same coin. In fact, anaphylaxis was first described and understood as an unintended consequence of injections. I simply can't imagine any intelligent scientist or doctor disputing the facts that she clearly lays out showing this to be true.
.
Fraser then connects the introduction of inject-able penicillin with the first appearance of peanut allergy in the 1940s. Who could have predicted that adding a peanut oil base (which contained trace amounts of peanut protein) in order to make the penicillin action longer lasting in the body, would act to sensitize some individuals to peanut allergy? Years later when castor oil was used in the base for vitamin K injections given to all newborns we saw another jump up in the incidence of peanut allergies. (Proteins that contaminate castor oil have been shown to cross react with peanuts and soy.)
.
But the biggest jump in peanut allergies -- what can only be called an, "epidemic." coincided with the introduction of the HIB vaccine. Apparently there is enough similarity between HIB virus proteins and peanut proteins that injection with the one can trigger a response to the other in some people. But that's not all -- Fraser explains additional factors that probably played a role as well. I have only barely scratched the surface of the immense amount of information, all well referenced that Fraser has eloquently assembled into her book, The Peanut Allergy Epidemic. Every parent and anyone with an interest in public health needs to read this book. When I was in grade school in the 1960s-70s I never heard of anyone with a peanut allergy. I knew of exactly one case of someone with asthma. Her diagnosis stood out in my mind for two reasons: First because she didn't have to run laps in gym class,…

This beautiful little book is a perfect read aloud book to explain diabetes to a young child.
.
But is also much more than that.
It incorporates the science that now shows how most people with diabetes can actually CURE this disease by adopting an oil-free whole-foods plant-based diet.
Published research shows that genes alone do not mean that someone will develop this disease. DIET can turn our genes on and OFF!
.
This book accurately distills down the latest science that shows a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, is not automatically a life sentence for drugs and possible disability, but in fact, individuals can take control of their health and actually reverse this disease using a whole-food plant based diet. I highly recommend this book for ALL Parents to read to their children --not only will they better understand the disease of diabetes (which odds are all children will know someone with this disease) but it will plant a seed in them for HEALTH!
