Lawrence Kid Picks: Kids and Disabilities

This list contains books that address a variety of disabilities, including dyslexia, autism, speech disorders, and physical disabilities. The topics are addressed through settings and situations that are familiar to most children, making the differences seem less scary. These books promote understanding and compassion toward those in a child's surroundings that are "different" due to their disabilities. This list contains a mixture of picture books and non-fiction books.
