I'm still a little floored this book didn't win the Newbery Medal, but the honor is well deserved! Fern's journey from a sheltered kid part of something she doesn't fully comprehend to a kid facing a world that's much more complicated than she ever knew is breath taking. I cried and felt every emotion. If you have a kiddo trying to make sense of the world, The Wrong Way Home is a beautiful book that can help open the door to the struggles and empathy we have for those around us.
