This is actually the 2nd time I've read this, & it's still diverting. I could not guess who was the murderer. However, I'm not going to buy my own personal copy. There is a recurring tic throughout--for example, on page 32: "What he couldn't know, of course, was that the first murder was less than a day away." On page 123: "Only the next morning did he hear that the first breath of that most dreaded movement had been whispered on board: mutiny." Annoying!
