An excellent but brief debut season to a show whose fan following kept it alive for five seasons (despite networks moving it around a million times). This series starts at the tail end of the eighties (March 1989 to be exact), but that doesn't matter because QUANTUM LEAP, as you'll quickly learn, is timeless. One second, he's at a fifties airbase, the next a seventies women's college. Filled with a superb cast and headed by the charming Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, QUANTUM LEAP is a great series about time travel without any of that sci-fi stigma. It's really a series about people and the social mores of different eras. See if you can spot the effect Sam has on, oh, I don't know, a little Michael Jackson and a little Buddy Holly. I loved this season. Unfortunately, it's only nine episodes. Still, I would highly recommend it.
