Terminal Freeze --- by Lincoln Child. --- You’ve got to admit it, in Terminal Freeze; Child does what he does best: scare the livin’ daylights out of you. Set in the high Arctic, next to an extinct volcano, named aptly enough, Mount Fear, in a long disused military base, a film crew bent on producing the mother of all documentaries and the base’s skeleton military force stumble upon, what? It’s a monster. It has no vulnerabilities and almost no Achilles’ heel. Child dishes out fright, thrills and mystery. Your hair stands on end; your flesh crawls and you knees turn to jelly. When you read this book in bed, read under the covers with all the lights on and the TV turned up loud downstairs. And be prepared to read deep into the night: this book is impossible to put down.
