Wow. Aronofsky really delivers a viscerally wrenching stab of pathos here for his second full length film. Burstyn was incredible; mind-bending realism. One of Connelly's better roles, too. The four suffering souls synthetically filing a void; poetically curling up into the fetal position. Truly an affecting social commentary on the pathetic and pitiful devolution of the human condition, and the widespread scourge of substance addiction. Lennon and McCartney said it best: "All the lonely people... Where do they all come from?" Or better yet: "Where do they all belong?" FIVE STARS.
