Book has a very complex & tightly woven plot with a huge cast of characters. The story was engrossing & timely. Atkinson is British. I’m not. Most pages in this book had a cultural reference that baffled me. None of them interfered with my ability to follow the plot, but I know there was a layer of richness that I missed. Near the end of the book, the entire tone of the prose changed. Instead of a story being told, it felt like the printed words at the end of a movie telling what happened to everybody. This last 20 or 30 pages just felt strange. I liked that there was more than one mystery in the story. One of them, we know about but the good guys don’t. That made an interesting contrast to the rest of the mysteries that we solved together.
