Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! What a positive and healthy portrayed relationship! Can we start with the fact that there is a relationship where two people SUPPORT each other by pushing one another and encouraging their dreams and pursuits? They challenge each other and listen to each other and it's flippin beautiful. Also, they talked about sex! In a positive, healthy way. They actually discussed whether they were ready and their feelings. And it wasn't the stereotypical "boy wants sex and girl is not ready". It was actually flipped! The girl was pursuing her sexuality, and not in a slutty way, and Rishi wasn't ready. He was man enough to tell her and she was woman enough to listen, but still ask for what she wanted. It was beautiful! I was shouting with happiness in my car when I was listening to the audiobook (which was great by the way). Finally, there were actual family relationships! The tension between Dimple and her parents and Rishi and his, along with his brother, were realistic and important to the plot! They rounded out the characters and dealt with relatable issues while tying in the culture of the characters. Now after all my raving about how happy I was with this book, the ONLY reason it wasn't five stars was the fact that despite the slow development of the relationship, I still feel like it happened very fast and the hated the whole "run to catch each other, airport-style" ending scene. But man! I loved this book. What a great new contemporary. I can't wait for From Twinkle, With Love!
