Troop 6000

the Girl Scout Troop That Began in a Shelter and Inspired the World
Nov 19, 2020JessicaGma rated this title 5 out of 5 stars
A moving memoir about the first Girl Scout troop set up in Queens for girls living in a homeless shelter. I was surprised by how easy it is in the US to fall through the cracks and end up in a shelter especially when rents can be quite high, like in NYC. I also want a follow-up to see how the families are, especially since this follows the girls two years ago, and things have gotten stranger since then. So far, it's my favourite non fiction read of the year.
