While I was reading If I Stay, I was debating whether to give it four or five stars. After reading the beautiful ending, I couldn't give it anything lower than five. Besides the wonderful ending, I really like the structure of the book. The book is not split into chapters but time intervals. Each interval includes a description of what is going on in the present (the aftermath of a severe car accident) and then is followed by the main character's memories. The present and the past tie together really nicely. Both are necessary for Mia to decide whether she should stay, and live, or leave forever.
