Add a CommentOverall not my favorite Joni Mitchell album but "A Case Of You" is sublime songwriting and delivery.
Originally released back in 1971 - "Blue" would be Canadian-born singer/songwriter, Joni Mitchell's 4th studio album. All 10 tracks were exclusively written by Mitchell. They were all recorded by her, as well (along with accompanying musicians).

One of the most beautifully restless albums of all time. Eloquent singer songwriter lyrics that inspire roadtips and love of self with a tip of the hat to others.
This and "Court and Spark" are by far Joni's best albums. Five stars for Blue, 4 1/2 stars for Court and Spark. Joni matured and "found her voice" for those albums.
Released in 1971, Blue is superb and timeless. I like it even better than her greatest hits, though some of these songs are on that album as well.
When it comes to the very beginnings of Canadian Pop/Folk music in the 1960s, you can be sure that Joni Mitchell (birth-name Roberta Joan Anderson) was right there forging away, meticulously fine-tuning her very distinctive sound.
Born in Fort MacLeod, Alberta (1943), Joni quickly morphed into a talented singer/songwriter. Throughout the late 1960s and the 1970s her songs helped to put good, old Canada on the pop-music map (though she did, of course, defect over to the USA).
Throughout her long, illustrious career Joni has been an 8-time Grammy Award winner. And her songs have been covered by such notable performers as Judy Collins, Janet Jackson, George Michael and Prince.
Released in 1971 - "Blue" contains 10 tracks in all. Three of my favourites are - A Case Of You, Carey, and California.... (*Watch music-video*)
Joni Mitchell at the top of her game. A 'must' for her fans!
would like to pick it up at Main Library
This record is absolutely perfect and toally Joni. Most of these songs wind up on her "Greatest Hits" album. Wonderful, beginning to end.
