What does it take to destroy the world? The life of one woman. One mother. Flashpoint is a canon AU story in DC where the Flash's actions send ripples of disruption through the life he knew. Wonder Woman and Aquaman fighting a war that will soon destroy the world. Thomas Wayne (not Bruce) has donned the mantle of the Dark Knight, and Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne) stands to witness Barry's ultimate defeat.

This is a stand alone story, but numerous off-shots are available to expand this epic tale. It is also the catalyst that leads to the New 52 DC Reboot.

This was an interesting alternate world story with MANY supplemental tales to help make sense of the entire universe created and destroyed in these five issues. As a standalone story, it's interesting. With all of the other chapters, it's EXTREMELY interesting and fun. As a near complete reboot of the DC Universe, I don't feel it was completely necessary.

Miss the old DC, but I guess they felt that they needed some change. Godd book though.

An altered past leads to an altered present and we see very different DC characters as they might have been. It's kind of fun to see a completely different Batman, who is still somewhat the same. But it's overcharged and a bit fatiguing too.

This book made me hate the self centered jerk bag the flash.

Yet another big event, this one centred on the Flash, who comes to in a world completely changed from what he knows and has to set it right. Glimpses of the (completely unneeded) post-reboot DC universe are seen in one of the last adventures of the pre-reboot DCU. It's a shame DC made the switch. Plus points to the book: good writing from Johns, terrific art by Kubert, and an unexpected moment of emotion from one character you'd never expect.
