Great book, excellent stories in addition to solid recipes. Watch out for the errors, just look up "Inside the Jewish Bakery errata" in order to find the fixes to the recipes. If this were my own copy I'd just write in the corrections by hand as I bake them. It is a little annoying to use but the baking results are good.

This book has great reicipe titles, but there are many errors in the recipes themselves. The author's site lists eight pages of errata. The recipe on p.194 for Wonder cake might end up with humorous or disasterous results: it calls for 1 3/4 CUPS of baking powder, which would probably explode in the oven. I tried the recipe for Bialys and followed all the directions, but they still came out like bloated (but edible) footballs, not Bialys. BTW, that recipe lists "artisan flour"; it should read "bread flour." So, if you use this book, BEWARE! Make sure to check online for corrections
