"Put your dress on. Women aren't allowed to act, so you'll have to play some female roles. When the plague strikes, get out of London! Try your luck as a traveling player and take the show on the road. Keep an eye out for cutpurses. These thieves thrive in busy places like the Globe. Study hard! If you mangle Shakespeare's lines, you'll be in trouble" --Cover, p. 4.

Review by Kai - 7 1/2...

I liked this book because it was a history book and I liked the drawings a lot. I like the history book because I wanted to know more about Shakespeare. Now I know that being a Shakespearian actor was very hard, not a good life.

This book and series are great. It doesn't have a ton of historical content, but it is definitely a fun and great way for kids to get interested in history. The illustrations are funny and are what keep readers hooked for more.
