The participants are challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food--as well as go without their loved ones and many of their creature comforts--for 30 days. Very engaging and inspiring.
.
You don't need to be, "on the path to raw foods" to love this documentary. Especially since there are SO MANY well documented versions of whole-food plant based diets that ALL show tremendous efficacy in reversing diabetes and other chronic conditions.
.
Certainly the protocol here is one of the more challenging to implement without good support, but the personal stories -- and how much they INSPIRE transcend the raw foods diet.
.
Other great materials that show reversal of diabetes:

Forks Over Knives (DVD)
The End of Diabetes by Joel Fuhrman
Dr. John McDougall's programs and books
How Not to Die by Michael Greger
Proteinaholic by Garth Davis

This film gives hope to people with diabetes and puts the medical profession and the pharmaceutical industry to shame. It is about time.

I have been on a raw diet for varying periods of time over the last 10 years. My experience is that when I actually do it, I feel better, have more energy and enjoy life more. There is no question that cooking food destroys some of the nutrient value. This film inspired me to want to "go raw" again. Since my daughter (who has been cancer free for over 10 years) still does her best to stay raw, I guess I can keep trying to do so as well. By the way, in the movie, people with high blood pressure found that it went much lower on this diet (most had their blood pressure return to normal) and they all lost lots of weight. Plus, most had more energy and optimism at the end.

While I think the success rate has more to do with abstaining from meat and dairy (based on other documentaries such as Chow Down and Forks Over Knives), it is really impressive to see people fight the diet, either stick with it and get phenomenal results or quit. This will be of interest to Type I and Type II diabetics, as well as those wanting to prevent Type II.

Incredible documentary showing how powerful diet is on debilitating diseases, in this case, diabetes. A friend recommended it to me and it has motivated me to change my diet after doing more research.
