Star Power alert. Very slow, not so great plot "twist".
This movie had no budget other than movie stars. 40% of this movie is scenes with Christina Ricci naked.

This was an eerie movie. Lian Neeson plays true to form, but Ricci's un-endearing character didn't give her much to work with. Also, the nudity was distracting, and didn't add much to the film.

Too slow. It was almost a waste of time to me.

Visually striking, good use of colors, make-up, special effects, and mood. Gothic, wintery, picturesque and original. Radiohead at ending credits keeps the movie coming. It builds up though; from borderline corny, and cliche, to disturbing.

This movie was terrible. “Dumb, Boring and Stupid” Waste of time - Waste of Electrical power.
It would be a waste of money to buy. "I fast forwarded all the way."

This could have been so much better. Given the ending and the "truth" of what is going on, there's a lot that doesn't make sense. For example, do you need to look in a mirror to know if you're really breathing? And there are things all live beings experience...hunger, bodily functions...these issues aren't addressed in order to determine a fairly simple truth. Trying not to give it away here, but there are inconsistencies that don't make sense. I was waiting for the movie to "come together" in a way that made sense...but it didn't. Even pronouncing a person dead...that is another flawed loophole in this story if we are to believe any of it.

A creepy horror/psychological thriller with a unique storyline. Worth picking up if you like disturbing plots that keeps you guessing.

<<After.life>> gets points for its ingenuity and for maintaining an eerie mood all throughout the film. On the other hand, I understand how Anna’s (Christina Ricci’s character) inertia in the face of the dire situation in which she finds herself could be frustrating to watch. I also felt that there were some holes in the story. For instance, I wanted to know more about the boy and his mother. All in all, the movie did not scare me out of my wits, and perhaps it wasn’t meant to. It was, however, successful at questioning the true meaning of death…or life.

This was a seriously creepy movie! It was good though.

Slow paced, but intriguing film. I'm not sure what to call it. Sort of a horror/thriller/chiller type movie. Not nearly as good as many films of those genre, but it keeps you asking questions throughout. Mostly, is she alive or dead? Besides that, which kept my attention to the end, Ricci is topless for about a third of the movie. I expected to dislike this movie more than I did. It was actually a bit of a surprise because of the mostly negative reviews.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: This is definitely NOT a movie for 13 year-olds!

Sexual Content: Lots of nudity. Actually, Neeson handling a young naked girl is kind of sick...
