This is a 50-minute documentary produced for the Natonal Geographic Channel in 2008.
A monster black hole is the largest type of black hole on the order of hundreds of thousands to billions of solar masses.
It is found in the centre of almost all currently known massive galaxies.
In the case of our Milky Way, it is found at the location of Sagittarius A.
The film examines the growth of a monster black hole that dominates the center of a galaxy.
As a monster black hole swallows everything in its path, it generates energy that shapes the universe around it in powerful ways.
You might wonder if our Milky Way galaxy will one day come to an end when the black hole at the galaxy's center explodes.
It is an amazing, profoundly thought-provoking documentary.
