Not great. The production was laughable at times in it's over the top presentation. What didn't help is that they got so into the story behind the house that sometimes I forgot what we were watching a show on haunted houses. But my biggest issue was the total inaccuracy. After watching the segment on the "The Myrtle House" which was described as "the most haunted house in America" I found it odd they only chronicled one incident. One incident hardly seemed the fodder for 'the most haunted'. So I dug into more history on the house only to find out the 'history' they depicted of Chloe wasn't even real! The two daughters didn't die, the guy had three kids, it was all just completely different than what was presented. It then led me to wonder what else about the other stories were erroneous!

Hoping to get myself into a really spooky mood in accordance with this upcoming Halloween, I was greatly anticipating that "Haunted Houses" here would be a real treat of eerie, spine-tingling scares, and more._____ But, no such luck, f-f-f-folks, 'cause "Haunted Houses" was a trick, not a treat._____ The cold, hard truth is that this DVD's "goose-pimple" factor was so diluted and homogenized that it, pretty much, made the ghostliness of Casper, the friendly ghost, cartoons appear downright creepy and frightening by sheer comparison._____ From Salem, Mass., to St. Francesville, Louisianna, to San Diego, California, this so-so documentary of "America's Most Haunted Houses" reveals long-held secrets (through numerous interviews and dramatized re-creations) of certain idiosyncratic homes all across the nation where strange, paranormal-type activity has been known to have occured, throughout the many years, on more than just a few occasions._____ Well, think whatever you like about these weird "supernatural" manifestations, and such - I'm a pure, unshakable sceptic at heart, and the earnest re-telling of these "ghost" stories on this DVD didn't convince me, one way, or the other, about anything that might, or might not, be true that's connected with the realm of spirits and poltergeists._____ Anyways, "Happy Halloween", everybody!
