I loved the music on this album in 1969. In fact, in my opinion, he should have stopped there for I don't think he's written anything good since then. After he ditched Joan Baez (now SHE is a musical genius!) and took up the electric guitar, he went steadily downhill -- wrote worse and worse music and poetry, sang more and more poorly, and grew ever more arrogant. I doubt that Mr Dylan cares what the Nobel Prize committee, or any of us, thinks about him.

This is my favorite Bob Dylan album. It's the perfect mix of folk and country. The opening song "Girl from the North Country" with Johnny Cash is a forever hit to me. Go for it! Recommended by Lisa

Bob Dylan did some great songs on Nashville Skyline. He used some of the best country musicians he could find. Then he wrote some great songs for them all to play. My favorites are "Lay, Lady, Lay" "Girl From the North Country", and "Nashville Skyline Rag".
