Continuing the absorbing, inventive saga started in Foundling , Lamplighter follows Rossam'nd Bookchild, now one of the Emperor#65533;s lamplighters, who is sworn to protect travelers from the ferocious bogles that live in the wild. Small and meek, he does not fit in. Then a haughty young female monster hunter is forced upon the lamplighters for training. "Pullets and cockerels! Still no entry for z! How is this possible?" Great middle book of the trilogy; still filled with its own action which gets resolved, but advances the overall plot too.

This book is slow at first but it gets better around the middle, you just have to stick with it
