For FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy, it all starts with a pregnant hooker. The story Delilah Rose tells Kimberly about her johns is too horrifying to be true - yet one by one, prostitutes are disappearing, and nobody but Kimberly seems to care.

As a member of the Evidence Recovery Team, dead hookers aren't exactly her specialty. The young agent is five months pregnant and has other things to worry about than a lunatic who uses spiders to do his dirty work. But her own mother and sister were victims of a serial killer, and with no bodies, and precious few clues, it's becoming clear that a serial killer has found the key to the perfect murder. Now Kimberly is caught in a lethal web - and the more she fights for answers, the more tightly she's trapped. What she doesn't know is that she's way too close to a psychopath.

I have recently discovered this author and have read about 12 of her books this summer. This is the last in the FBI Profiler series and I was very, very disappointed. Too much graphic detail on children being sexually assaulted and a bit far fetched and predictable in places. I swear that this was ghost written by someone else as it is not the same caliber of writing that I have read in the past. I was very disappointed in this book.

This was my first Lisa Gardner book, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed!!!!!! Could not put this book down. Though with her descriptiveness I got pictures in my head that I didn't necessarily like, it definitely made the book come alive.

I really enjoy Lisa Gardner... But (I know!), I often find an author I like and read everything by them. This is one author that you might want to read one, then read something else, and then come back to her. Many of her books are about child abductions, child abuse, and the like and it became too much for me.

Amazing story. Yes, it is awful what happened to the children in this book but that fact is, it is possible for any family to experience this tragedy. As a parent of small children, I was left feeling both hatred and sorrow for the "BurgerMan". This is an ugly story but extremely well written.
