In recent years, there's been a dramatic increase in the number of children being diagnosed with serious psychiatric disorders and prescribed medications that are just beginning to be tested in children. The drugs can cause serious side effects, and virtually nothing is known about their long-term impact. "It's really to some extent an experiment, trying medications in these children of this age, " child psychiatrist Dr. Patrick Bacon tells FRONTLINE. "It's a gamble. And I tell parents there's no way to know what's going to work."

Who fills their kids with drugs at such an early age and causes them to suffer later on in their lifetime?
When will this stop, doctor's guessing and parents finding answers where there aren't any?
The worst are professionals telling parents they need to or suggest to give their child drugs because they are hyper, I was hyper at age 4, all kids are hyper at age 4, it's now accepted that hyper children need to be medicated. It's so wrong.

An alarming look at the number of children being prescribed anti- psychotics and anti-depressants; some as young as 4 years old. A few of the side effects these children develop incllude nervous tics, additional abnormal behaviour not previously there and significant weight gains. Interestingly enough, in clips where the children are at home, they are seen eating pogos and drinking Gatorade and ice cream bars. It’s a wonder no one has looked at diet before prescribing mind altering medication on growing brains. Troubling and frightening.
