A Broadway chorine needs a little help with her hoofing, so her dance director gets an idea. A good idea. "Do you feel like going through that opening number with Mr. Astaire?" And Fred Astaire, making his screen debut, shows the lady how it's done. Three film icons give the backstage musical a jolt of superstar electricity in a song-, dance-, and romance-filled extravaganza.--Container

Nice pre-code film, a rare chance to see Joan Crawford do some dancing. Also first appearance of Fred Astaire (playing himself) on screen. Solid performances even if the script is a tad predictable.

Interesting flick to see Joan Crawford trying to dance with Fred Astaire. Also, fun to see Clark Gable and the Three Stooges in action.

A delightful movie. Worth seeing for several reasons... Astaire & Joan Crawford dancing on a flying carpet, dancing with Bavarian beer steins, the great editing of the kaleidoscope sequence with the carousel fantasy. Also, a much-too-brief underwater scene with JC & Franchot Tone is dazzling.

Nice chemistry between Crawford and Gable; they made over 9 pictures together. Interesting to see Fred Astaire's movie debut---he's only in 1 or 2 scenes. Quite a modern feel as our heroine is trying to build a career for herself in the tough world of Broadway. Very enjoyable movie.
