Provocative and nuanced as hell, OUT OF SIGHT is easily director Steven Soderbergh's finest work, owing a great deal to the source material, a novel by the late great Elmore Leonard. It feels like that Sinatra song: "Strangers in the night, exchanging glances.." However, it's far less laidback. These strangers happen to be a career bank robber, played by the suave and slick George Clooney, and a U.S. Marshall, played just as keenly by the beautiful but believably tough Jennifer Lopez. The energy is great. The cast is stellar and extensive. The writing is superb. Everything aligns with this film that is equal parts love and war. For those who like their noir raw, I highly recommend the quick and witty OUT OF SIGHT.

Stayed faithfully to Elmore's book except minor tweaks at the beginning and the end. Throw in the 20 minutes of so deleted scenes, you have the full novel. Enjoyed the acting, soundtrack and those unbelievable yet believable twists and turns.
Note: Indiwire rated this #1 of the 21 Elmore Leonard's movie adaptations. Jackie Brown 1997 in #2 and Hombre 1967 #3: http://www.indiewire.com/2013/05/from-best-to-worst-elmore-leonard-movie-adaptations-98187/

"It's like seeing someone for the first time... like you could be passing on the street, and you look at each other and, for a few seconds, there's this kind of a recognition like you both know something. The next moment, the person's gone, and it's too late to do anything about it. And you always remember it, because it was there, and you let it go, and you think to yourself, 'What if I had stopped? If I had said something? What if, what if?' And it may only happen a few times in your life. Or once."
