I found it to be a very hard movie to keep up with and really gets you thinking, but towards the end it sort of makes sense and brings a sad twist along with it.

I rented this movie a couple of years ago. I just noticed it is added to the library. From what I remember I was not happy overall with this but there are a few brilliant parts I remember and for those I think it worth a watch.
Pick it up and give it a watch as most of the actors did their best and you will see who. You can notice this in any movie good or bad. Take the ball and run. In football sometimes it is the inches that mean a win. Lots of inches here.

I really wanted to like it because it was Sir Anthony Hopkins but it left me hollow. Sir Hopkins has said that acting is easy work. His somewhat recent film directed by Woody Allen left me with the same hollow, especially with his very beaten image at the end.

Agree with the other comments that the movie started out promising and then slipped into a stream of incoherent short takes of babble that ended with big ?!?!. I even went to the bonus material to see what I have missed. Well, just more minutes of time wasting babble.

In my opinion, the only reason this movie was made was because Sir Anthony wrote, directed & produced it. If any other individual had tried, one can only hope that the project would have been quietly put aside and never spoken of again.
In watching the special features on the DVD, it's clear that none of the actors really understand the film.

Skip it. Experimental film by Anthony Hopkins. There is no real point or story in this film. It's a film version of one's dream state (consciousness vs. subconsciousness). The film does work for the 1st half but then falls into a "reality" I wish it didn't go to. Some scenes are well directed by Anthony Hopkins especially the diner scene and the highway road rage scene. I'd skip to those scenes and forget the rest. Roger Ebert gave it 3 stars. It was hard for me to watch it to the end without a struggle.
