The writing is elegant and the character development of all of the characters, especially the main character -- Kitty, is superb. While I would not consider it a "page turner", nevertheless, it was so intriguing and compelling that it keep you interested as to what was going to happen next. Well worth the read.

Beautiful story. Well written and a story rich in theme and characters. I highly recommend both the book AND the movie.
