Chilling, compelling, eye-opening. My God, they do lotteries differently in the US (at least as far as I'm aware - I don't believe Canadians don't get a lump-sum payment when they win?). Full of crazy anecdotes and a memorable ending when the author visits Atlantic City with a friend in an unusually restrained way...but to compare his restraint to my husband's and my once-a-decade trip to a casino is to compare swimming across Lake Ontario to splashing gleefully around ankle-deep in your kid's paddling pool. Holy moly. Did I mention this is eye-opening?!
