Godzilla 20 from 2020 List created by LPL_IanS Twenty books published in 2020 that I read (or plan to read just as soon as the holds list is down to zero). Piranesi’s world is one of seemingly infinite grand classical halls. The lower levels are flooded. The highest touch the clouds. Innumerable statues populate “the House,” but innocent Piranesi and the enigmatic “Other” are its only known human… (more)

"There are some things beyond our understanding, Mark. We must accept them and learn from them. Because these moments of crisis are also potential moments of faith. A time, when we either come together or fall apart. Nature always has a way of balancing itself. The only question is, what part will we play?"

Add a CommentI mean... there's no plot. This movie is nothing but people running, weirdly large explosions, and roaring monsters, and the whole thing could stand to be thirty minutes shorter. But on the other hand, that's literally the original Godzilla films. So if you embrace it in the spirit of 1960s monster movies, you'll be okay.
All Godzilla fans must watch. Spoiler: I suspect this is the end of the Godzilla series since the Japanese expert sacrifices himself to save Godzilla. He's an iconic character to this series. Why did he give his life's work to the American vs the Japanese woman? Interesting that Moth's essence is it's ultra power while when the other creatures die their essence just becomes lab specimens.
I have seen every Godzilla movie ever made. I am sorry to say I turned this one off after 30 minutes. Just incredible violence with no story that makes any sense. Film is dead....
Not enough monsters. Not enough plot.
Turn off your brain and get entertained by larger than life monsters and special effects. The story is just a device to unleash cool looking monsters, it doesn't seem logical.
However, there is Japanese Anime called "Attack on Titan" where large monsters are worshiped (by a cult) as the cleansers of mankind as well, so it just might be a cultural theme.
Kids will love the monsters and graphics, so just enjoy this movie as a family, not as some kind of Movie of the Year.
Well. That was horrible. I don’t think I got 30 minutes into it before I realized it was stupid. A well written script is important. And lots of other things this film didn’t have are important.
Entertaining Movie! Best to view on a good quality tv with complete home theatre system to fully enjoy the graphics and explosions
Really boring and did not hold my interest. Sensationalism without an objective, other than the lead actress thinks setting monsters in motion will be better for mankind than letting mankind work out their own problems. Ugh. Let the monsters kill everything.
The visual effects is great but the picture is dark most of the time. The plot is rather stupid with things like long live the king (godzilla) and godzilla will restore balance (so much destruction). There is the human conflicts and what they said ruin the movie. The fight scene between monsters is good. The movie re-imagines billions years ago monsters legend and combines it into futuristic fantasy technology.
I wanted to like this movie so much. I'm a big Godzilla fan, one of my favorites since I was a little boy. But this film didn't click well. I liked the first movie better, glad to see the other monsters on the roster make it like Rodan and Mothra. But I hated the execution of everything, maybe part 3 will be better! A certain monster from Skull Island will enter the arena!
