Rock stars and rap gods. Comedy legends and A-list actors. Supermodels and centerfolds. Moguls and mobsters. A president.

Over his unrivaled four-decade career in radio, Howard Stern has interviewed thousands of personalities--discussing sex, relationships, money, fame, spirituality, and success with the boldest of bold-faced names. But which interviews are his favorites? It's one of the questions he gets asked most frequently. Howard Stern Comes Again delivers his answer.

This book is a feast of conversation and more, as between the lines Stern offers his definitive autobiography--a magnum opus of confession and personal exploration. Tracy Morgan opens up about his near-fatal car crash. Lady Gaga divulges her history with cocaine. Madonna reminisces on her relationship with Tupac Shakur. Bill Murray waxes philosophical on the purpose of life. Jerry Seinfeld offers a master class on comedy. Harvey Weinstein denies the existence of the so-called casting couch. An impressive array of creative visionaries weigh in on what Stern calls "the climb"--the stories of how they struggled and eventually prevailed. As he writes in the introduction, "If you're having trouble finding motivation in life and you're looking for that extra kick in the ass, you will find it in these pages."

Interspersed throughout are rare selections from the Howard Stern Show archives with Donald Trump that depict his own climb: transforming from Manhattan tabloid fixture to reality TV star to president of the United States. Stern also tells of his Moby Dick -like quest to land an interview with Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the 2016 election--one of many newly written revelations from the author. He speaks with extraordinary candor about a variety of subjects, including his overwhelming insecurity early in his career, his revolutionary move from terrestrial radio to SiriusXM, and his belief in the power of psychotherapy.

As Stern insightfully notes in the introduction: "The interviews collected here represent my best work and show my personal evolution. But they don't just show my evolution. Gathered together like this, they show the evolution of popular culture over the past quarter century."

what PRIVATE PARTS should have been: a compendium of Howard's interviews, from his radio program. So, if you have been missing the show since it went satellite, this is an opportunity to catch up. the book does not contain an index. the acknowlegements page contains a poignant watercolor of Sophia, one of howard's pets, staring out to sea. howard painted his cat.

If you like/love/worship Howard Stern, you've probably already bought this and read it, or have it on your Christmas wish-list. And you will LOVE it. Even if you're not a huge Stern fan or don't have Sirius XM to hear him now, it's worth the read. It's basically transcripts of Howard's favourite interviews with some of the most famous people/entertainers in the world--with a ton of extra commentary. Stern is most proud of his personal growth (self-admittedly, mostly via therapy) which has helped him evolve from "shock jock" to a really good interviewer and (according to many others) a good person too.
Great read, and a lot of laughs (from some surprising people--including Ozzy Osborne). Unfortunately, a lot of trump segments as well (he was a constant on Stern's show). But they were revealing as well.

This isn't just a copy of transcripts. It includes a contextual intro to every interview and perspective from Stern as to his life and how he has grown/changed. The interviews aren't trivial, but are often powerful and insightful.

I've always shuddered at the thought of Howard Stern. Now I admire him. I'm still not a fan of the occasional raunchy parts but it's easy to skim over them. This book is so much more.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. This book would not translate well into that format.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a mix of pieces of transcribed interviews with a backstory or explanation of why he chose each interview.
I found it very entertaining and hard to put down.

This "book" is a sham -- it's simply the dialog from some of Stern's radio interviews. It would be better to actually bundle the audio of these conversations into an audio book or podcast; this is 2019, after all, with newer technology that's more appropriate.

This is just transcripts of portions of his interviews. I was hoping to read something insightful, but, in written form, the interviews were just ho hum.
