#1 New York Times bestseller Lisa Gardner returns with an unpredictable thriller that puts fan favorites D.D. Warren and Flora Dane on a shocking new case that begins with a vicious murder and gets darker from there.

A man is dead, shot three times in his home office. But his computer has been shot twelve times, and when the cops arrive, his pregnant wife is holding the gun.

D.D. Warren arrives on the scene and recognizes the woman--Evie Carter--from a case many years back. Evie's father was killed in a shooting that was ruled an accident. But for D.D., two coincidental murders is too many.

Flora Dane sees the murder of Conrad Carter on the TV news and immediately knows his face. She remembers a night when she was still a victim--a hostage--and her captor knew this man. Overcome with guilt that she never tracked him down, Flora is now determined to learn the truth of Conrad's murder.

But D.D. and Flora are about to discover that in this case the truth is a devilishly elusive thing. As layer by layer they peel away the half-truths and outright lies, they wonder: How many secrets can one family have?

A trifecta of leading female characters makes this the best D.D. Warren mystery yet -- possibly my favorite Lisa Gardner novel to date as well. The three women find themselves connected by one murder and it takes some teamwork on their part to bring about justice. They are all different and each one has baggage that can get in the way. Still, along with some key male contributions they go deep into the dark web to track down a mystery that began sixteen years ago. Highly recommended!

Long , boring, repetitive, dull, and poorly written in places. Not up to Gardner's usual standards. Disappointing to say the least. What else can I say ?

#10 in the D.D. Warren series. Flora Danes is back as a regular character in this series and SSA Kimberly Quincy from the Quincy and Rainie series makes a guest appearance. In this episode there are 2 murders in the same family that occurred years apart and the most recent one seems to have connections to Flora’s kidnapper. Written in alternating chapters from DD, Flora and the murder victim’s wife - Evie. So many lies and secrets in the victims family make it a twisty road to solve the mystery. As usual, another entertaining page-turner from this author.

Wow. I can't fathom having such a detailed and intricate mind as Lisa Gardner, author of Never Tell.

I've always been fond of D.D. Warren but this is less a story about her and more about meshing the stories of three complicated women all connected by their stories, yet each with their own story in 'Never Tell'.

The fear, the confusion, the frustration, the horror just grabs and doesn't let go, until the tears at the end.

I'm very fond of Flora Dane. I want to see more of her and hope she continues to blossom after too much time in her personal desert. I also hope she keeps her edge while blossoming.

I believe you would be missing a great deal if you do not read 'Look For Me' before reading 'Never Tell'.

"Breathe in. Breathe out."

Complicated characters. Nonstop action. My kind of book! After reading Never Tell I think Flora Dane is fast becoming my favorite character Gardiner has written about. I generally dislike multiple POV books but it totally worked in this instance. Never Tell alternates between three viewpoints: Evie, who was found holding a smoking gun over her dead husband, Detective D.D. Warren (of course), and Flora, who was kidnapped years ago by Jacob Ness. It's a multilayered book filled with lying characters but also with heart. Lisa Gardiner is a master!

Her best novel yet. Couldn't put it down. Great character development, great plot twists, and an unlikely alliance between victims, police, and concerned citizens. A five star rating from me!

D. D. Warren is tryin to find out if a women killed her husband or is being set up. I am a big fan of the D. D. Warren series and this book did not disappoint at all. This is a page turner from beginning to end.
