Glennon Doyle (of Momastery fame) has written one heckuva powerful book.Love Warrior is sorta memoir, sorta self help and all-the-way beautiful. Hang out with Polli and Kate as they talk about body image, breakdowns, grief, "hot loneliness," higher powers, and a bunch of other TOTALLY LIGHTHEARTED TOPICS.    Bookish News: Big ol' list of movie/TV book adaptations right here! Queenie is a 26 year old black woman working through a perfect storm of events and bad habits that formed from a combination of youth and past. The "bad habits" express themselves through drinking, sex and bad relationships. Carty-Williams is full on in portraying Queenie as a young journalist finding identity in work and dating as well as simply finding herself. Funny, witty, immensely engaging.

This story of a black woman living and coming into adulthood in London after a traumatic upbringing tackles really complicated nuances of mental health and race. While it has been compared to "Bridget Jones Diary" there is a lot more depth to the themes of Queenie than there is in Helen Fielding's work. Darkly funny and deeply relateable, this is a first novel worth checking out!

I love this book. It's the tale of a twentysomething British Millenial woman trying to figure things out ,as we all are at some point in life. I loved the way the characters wove into the story. You will appreciate the author's prose in this exploration of 21st century relationships and life as a woman. This book's main character,Queenie is the friend that every one needs. I would love to see this adapted for the big or small screen.
