"Black Sunday" was an earlier work by Thomas Harris, the creator of Hannibal Lecter. Action actor Robert Shaw died in 1978 from a heart attack, the year this movie was released. The plot ie stadium. Not likely.f devilish and I am actually surprised it hasnt't been because it promotes a Islamic terrorist plot to kill 80,000 Americans, including the President, as they attend the 1977 SuperBowl game in Miami. This movie is 143 minutes long and there is no one scene of uplifting emotion. Brude Dern is excellently cast as the American blimp operator with a psychotic desire to strike back at a world he no longer feels at home with. Very well done movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding on this one. No falling asleep on this DVD!!!!!

I try not to be one of those 'the book was better' people, but the book was far superior. This movie was okay for its time, but they really chickened out with the ending.
