Mending Matters
Stitch, Patch, and Repair your Favorite Denim & More
Book - 2018
Mending Matters explores sewing on two levels: First, it includes more than 20 hands-on projects that showcase current trends in visible mending that are edgy, modern, and bold--but draw on traditional stitching. It does all this through just four very simple mending techniques: exterior patches, interior patches, slow stitches, darning, and weaving. In addition, the book addresses the way mending leads to a more mindful relationship to fashion and to overall well-being. In essays that accompany each how-to chapter, Katrina Rodabaugh explores mending as a metaphor for appreciating our own naturally flawed selves, and she examines the ways in which mending teaches us new skills, self-reliance, and confidence, all gained from making things with our own hands.

Not for mending; more for a change in outlook and different lifestyle. If you are looking for actual ways to mend denim then pls don't refer to this one. Dissappointed !
This book isn't really about mending. It's about a concept called Slow Fashion, which is creating new looks out of old items and slowing your fashion consumption. That's great - but I was looking for a book that would have really cool mending techniques. This book only has a few, and all of them are "fashion-y," meaning they look kinda cool on the page, but would probably mark me as a Person To Be Avoided if worn out in pubic. If Slow Fashion is your jam, this book is for you. But if you're looking to "stitch, patch, and repair" your favorite denim, look somewhere else.
Great way to reduce our waste - mending does matter!
