Bigtime, New York, is not big enough for both Carmen Cole and the superheroes and ubervillains who stalk its streets. An intrepid reporter, Carmen's dedicated her life to unmasking the spandexwearers, all because her fiancŽ turned out to be a superhero, and a cheating one at that-sleeping with none other than his nubile nemesis. Exposing the true identities of the nation's caped crusaders and their archenemies has catapulted Carmen from her sleepy southern hometown to the front pages of the country's biggest newspaper, The ExposŽ. Hobnobbing with millionaires and famished fashionistas is all in a day's work for a woman on the trail of the Fearless Five and Terrible Triad. But when Carmen gets the scoop of her career, her life comes crashing down around her. And even Bigtime's sexiest superhero, Striker, may not be able to save her.

Easily see this as a graphic novel on "Lois Lane scorned" angle. I read worse comic books with bigger potholes.

Light-hearted fun. A book about superheroes and the identities they hide. This book was an easy read, with off the wall superheroes and some fun villians to bring the evil. I enjoyed this story of fantasy and good vs. evil with romance mixed in.

A fun well-paced, good humoured and fun read. Entirely predictable which makes it great for those times where you need brain candy.

Just a fun read really. When I started reading, I was unsure whether Estep intended for the plot and character reveals to be so obvious, But as I got through book I accepted it all as tongue in cheek and just enjoyed the ride that was set out.

It's not my favourite of the Bigtime Series, I find Carmen Cole a little dull, but it's a nice introduction.

Fun on pages. A somewhat absurd concept that works. Don't expect to take this seriously: I laughed. Light-hearted, a dash of fun, superheros and villains, and that little black dress with warm champagne.
