The Beauty That Remains
Book - 2018
Music brought Autumn, Shay, and Logan together. Death might pull them apart.
Autumn always knew exactly who she was- a talented artist and a loyal friend. Shay was defined by two things- her bond with her twin sister, Sasha, and her love of music. And Logan has always turned to writing love songs when his real love life was a little less than perfect.
But when tragedy strikes each of them, somehow music is no longer enough. Now Logan is a guy who can't stop watching vlogs of his dead ex-boyfriend. Shay is a music blogger who's struggling to keep it together. And Autumn has become a girl who sends messages that she knows can never be answered.
Each of them wonders- How different would my life be if this hadn't happened? And now that it has . . . what's next?
"An emotional, must-read story of the way music connects us, the way tragedy threatens to break us apart, and the way life can change, for better or worse, in an instant." --Bustle.com
"This is the sort of book that pieces a broken heart back together, stronger than before." --Jeff Zentner, Morris Award winning author of The Serpent King

This month, I encourage you to check out one - or more - of… (more)

Add a CommentThis book is a little slow to get into, but it transforms into a powerful book about loss, grief, and acceptance.
DNF :( 🤷🏽‍♀️ Maybe I’ll pick it up again later but idk just couldn’t get into it. Every chapter in the beginning of the book was a different person so it’s like 5 characters and you’re like wait what? And trying to remember everyone’s story and all that. Not a fan. It did have a full cast audiobook which I like.
This is a beautiful story about death, grief, and moving on. Autumn blames herself for the death of her best friend who died in a car accident, Logan tries to figure out the circumstances that led to the death of his ex-boyfriend he still loves, and Shay wonders how to continue the music review blog she managed with her twin sister who recently died after battling Leukemia. A good read for anyone who’s experienced loss.
