As hard as it may be to watch, Fire Walk With Me is a beautiful, underrated movie that is essential to Twin Peaks. This edition features " The Missing Pieces "- 90 minutes of deleted scenes from the movie- this is definitely worth watching.

Definitely watch after Seasons 1 and 2, but only if you're ready for an intense ride into madness and despair. Gone are the side characters that made the TV series so quirky and soap operatic, and what's left is a study of a very troubled young woman in the days leading up to her horrific death. You'll get some answers, but the main reason to watch is that it takes a storyline that was rooted in fantasy horror in the show and grounds it in reality, showing the torment abuse victims live through and giving some catharsis to this heavy subject matter. You will feel sad and unclean, but that's kind of the point. Powerful, moving, and important.

One of the most brilliant, saddest, disturbing, and beautiful movies ever made. This is the story of Laura Palmer and how her life spun out of control before her death. Sherryl Lee should have gotten an Oscar for her performance. She captures the erratic mood changes of the abused and drug-addicted Laura perfectly.
This movie has been somewhat maligned, but I think it's an extremely powerful movie.

If you have seen the ENTIRE Twin Peaks television series, you MUST watch this film. It serves as a prequel to the series. In other words, if you have NOT seen the TV series, do NOT watch this film. Watch the ENTIRE TV series first (from the pilot episode to the final episode. Even many events from the final episode have a direct effect on the movie) and THEN watch this movie.

Mulholland Drive is David Lynch’s best movie. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is his second best. Everyone should watch both at least once.

Donna: “Do you think that if you were falling in space...that you would slow down after a while, or go faster and faster?”

Laura: “Faster and faster. And for a long time you wouldn't feel anything. And then you'd burst into fire. Forever... And the angels wouldn't help you. Because they've all gone away.”

Worthwhile, but not necessary, prequel to the fantastic tv series Twin Peaks. I wouldn't watch it til after the show even though it's a prequel. Not nearly as cool as the series, but it kept my attention. It was rated R, which led to an edgier feel. Topless Sheryl Lee and Moira Kelly didn't hurt either. Could have been much better had more of the tv cast seen fit to attend.

I've got mixed feelings on this follow-up prequel... I was disappointed that much of the original cast were not present to resume their roles. I've read that Sherilyn Fenn declined, and Lara Flynn Boyle was preoccupied with other projects (her replacement was noticeably awkward and Boyle's presence was missed). Even Kyle MacLachlan almost passed on the invitation. And that's only naming a few. But on the flip side, on a positive note, Sheryl Lee was tremendous. She really gave the tormented Laura Palmer her all, demonstrating her acting chops that she wasn't given the platform to in the series as Laura's cousin Maddy. The film felt a little exploitative; almost like a soft-porn. David Lynch is one unique individual, and I've typically really enjoyed his portfolio of off-center filmmaking. This was very good, but it left me feeling like too much was (and too many were) missing.

Before Precious, before Magnolia, there was Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me -- one of the only films that has explored and examined the devastating psychological [and (other) undeniably varied] ramifications of incest/sexual abuse in such an artistic and creative way.

This movie is a prequel to the wildly successful TV series Twin Peaks. It deals with weeks leading up to Laura Palmers death. The homecoming queen persona she shows the town, and the drug addicted prostitute on a downward spiral outside of home and school. Since anyone who has watched the show already knows who did kill Laura, it was interesting to see how it came about and filled in some of the missing pieces. Not a movie for everyone, but I thought Sheryl Lee's performance as Laura Palmer was excellent, maybe even award worthy.
