Not only fun to watch, this movie also proves Rock music have its root in England since the Middle Age!!!!!!!!!
It has some brief unnecessary NUDE scenes.

This is a fun, silly film. You'll feel like you're among friends. Paul Bettany is fantastic and Heath Ledger plays it with heart. Bring the kids, this is family entertainment.

The film is very unique in that it consistently breaks with the 'period', yet seems to portray it in a believable way anyhow. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

This movie's a bit strange, but it's pretty funny.

Must See - I loved this film. The modern music in a medeval setting works really well. You'll get a kick out of Bowie's number during a dance sequence. Heath Ledger is a movie star and it shows in this film. But it's Paul Bellamy, who plays Geoffrey Chaucer, who steals the show. Trivia note - the exploding lance fragments were partly made of uncooked pasta.

Paul Bettany is excellent. A classic you can watch again and again.

After his master dies, a peasant squire, fueled by his desire for food and glory, creates a new identity for himself as a knight.

KHaney Mar 19, 2008

Inspired by "The Canterbury Tales," as well as the story of Ulrich von Lichtenstein, this is the story of William, a young squire with a gift for jousting. After his master dies suddenly, the squire hits the road with his cohorts Roland and Wat. On the journey, they stumble across an unknown writer, Chaucer. William, lacking a proper pedigree, convinces Chaucer to forge genealogy documents that will pass him off as a knight. With his newly-minted history in hand, the young man sets out to prove himself a worthy knight at the country's jousting competition, and finds romance along the way

William: It is strange to think, I haven't seen you since a month. I have seen the new moon, but not you. I have seen sunsets and sunrises, but nothing of your beautiful face. The pieces of my broken heart are so small that they could be passed through the eye of a needle. I miss you like the sun misses the flower; like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter. Instead of beauty to direct its light to, the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has banished me to. I next compete in the city of Paris, I will find it empty and in the winter if you are not there. Hope guides me, that is what gets me through the day and especially the night. The hope that after you're gone from my sight, it will not be the last time that I look upon you.

KHaney Mar 19, 2008

Adhemar: You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. In what world could you possibly beat me?
