Christo Roppolo claims to have seen UFOs since childhood, and as an adult, he has collected hours of footage of strange crafts floating across the Monterey, California skies. We follow Roppolo, a charismatic and slightly foul-mouthed enthusiast, as he relays experiences of unexplained phenomena. Director, Justin Gaar looks well beyond the case for UFOs and turns the focus towards Roppolo, a filmmaker, a musician and a horror fanatic. Roppolo sheds light on personal tragedies that shaped him as an adult, and why unrelenting obsession also brings him inner peace.

As a documentary nut and enthusiast of the bizarre, this film provided a little of everything I adore. The documentary follows filmmaker, musician, and UFO enthusiast Christo Roppolo over the stunning landscape of Monterrey, California. Irreverent, absolutely hilarious, and with an emotional center I didn't expect, Curse of the Man Who Sees UFOs is an absolute delight to watch. The only weak point of the film I found was the director's narration. Although his insight was interesting, his voice is monotone and doesn't quite fit into the tone of the film. Other than that, I absolutely adored this documentary. Fans of podcasts like The Last Podcast on the Left and Astonishing Legends will most certainly love this documentary as much as I do.
