The cast is great, and this is one of my favorite John Candy roles. There are some daydream sequences I could do without where Candy's character imagines what might happen to his mother; these felt abrupt to me and pulled me away from the otherwise good story. All in all, this is a very good dramedy and worth seeing for John Candy's performance alone.
