This book is about a girl that lost part of her face and her name would be Maisie. Maisie loves running, and she decided that she would go run in the rain. While she was running lightning struck a tree and it caused a fire, that Maisie ran right through. She had to end up in the hospital because her burns were so severe. She got to make the choice if she wants to have face surgery or remain faceless. She decided to get the surgery so then, she could have a face and be normal again. When Maisie got out of the hospital she had to go to school again and she was nervous because she thought that people would make fun of her, but she ended up going to school anyway. In my opinion, the book was really good and I admire all of Maisie’s hard work/perseverance through everything that happened to her. When Maisie ended up in the hospital she worked really hard on getting better so she could get out of there. I would recommend this book if you like books about perseverance and hard work. Not recommended under the age of 8
