I saw the theatre version when it first came out. I liked it very much. Having read the original novels I saw it captured many elements from the book. In the book the house was on the ground but I was somewhat disappointed to see that they went with a tree house like in some of the earlier movies. There was never a grandfather Greystoke in any of the novels; but the grandfather in this movie is adorable. This was actually made in the early 80s not 2004 as the record above suggest so there are not any computer animated special affects as you see in the newest Tarzan movie recently released. Be sure to watch when you get a chance you will be sure to love it.
