Some might call this true love. Others might wonder why Grace never answers the phone. Or why she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn't work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. Or why she never seems to take anything with her when she leaves the house, not even a pen. This book has has been making its way through the Readers' Services department at LPL (all thanks to @LPL_KateG). A creepily addictive thriller, you will want to put your name on the holds list to get this in August!

This intense domestic thriller features the perfect marriage, which isn't quite what it seems. By the end, you will be rooting for Grace just as hard would for Jennifer Lopez's character in "Enough."

Behind Closed Doors gives a look into a truly terrifying relationship. The narration jumps around in time, and the writing will leave you up reading late into the night.

The book was base and predictable, but I had to see it through the end. A woman stuck in an abusive, truly prison-like relationship because the safety of her special needs sister is being threatened? Would not recommend.

So, i finished this book in a day when work was not too hectic. It's engaging and you will keep on reading to find out why is the character doing what he is doing. But, sadly the climax just doesn't keep up to the expectations. Nevertheless, it's not a bad read. Little creepy but I felt that the negative character sort of lost its soul towards the end. Would give it a 3.5 star.

Usually when I read a mystery or thriller that's not very good I skim or skip to the last chapters to see the "twist." This one was so poorly written with such unbelievable and underdeveloped characters I didn't even care what the "twist" was. The author didn't do a very good job researching supporting details of the plot and it's just all so unbelievable - for example, the idea that Bangkok has beaches is laughable.

This book takes it too far. It is incredibly disturbing. Could not finish reading. I felt SO uncomfortable and just disgusted by the actions of one of the characters. I did not like the turn this book took whatsoever, and I read a lot of crime/mystery books and watch true crime shows so I have a thick skin. I think what puts me off the most is that this is fiction that someone spent time coming up with.

this book is messed up on a supreme level. it was a little confusing, but once you understand just exactly what's happening, it's terrifying.

The writing is so basic and the characters are so bland that I am forcing myself to read this. The first scene is the most inane dinner party with zero tension. It’s obvious something is off in the perfect world, but it could have been shown in one page — not an entire scene of eye-roll-worthy conversation.

I’m only going to power through for a writer’s group discussion.
