The whole album is just a classic. It's just hit after hit and it's all paced perfectly. If you haven't heard it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out!

As a Bruce Spingsteen fan, I found this book revealing and entertaining. I have seen Springsteen in concert in the 80s, 90s, 2000s and most recently in 2016. His performances are energetic, intense and highly entertaining. I appreciated the insights into Springsteen's early years, his family and his depression. Springsteen writes songs that connect to everyman and this biography further gives us a glimpse as to why he transcends classes, genders and ages.

Honest, surprising and raw. This is the music biography for people who don't read music biographies.

Written with the same passion and eloquence as his lyrics. Perhaps a bit longer than it needed to be but his life is interesting and it was a great trip down memory lane for me.

As a Springsteen fan I did enjoy this book. Especially the parts about his early childhood, and his sympathetic treatment of his first wife. I was happy he disclosed his struggles with depression. I only ever went to one concert, here in Ottawa during The River Tour. The ticket cost 12 dollars !

A treat for Springsteen fans, with lots of details about the music we love and its creator. It made me re-listen to all his old and not-quite-so-old material with a deeper understanding. He's selective about what personal details he shares, so although he writes about his political views and his battles with depression, don't read this expecting a celebrity tell-all. It's mainly the story of a musician, his influences (musical and family) and, yes, New Jersey.

Deep is an adjective for Springsteen. I still find it amazing that a guy who has reached such heights of fame could remain somebody I’d like to have living next to me. Although his memoir went into much more detail about his rise to fame, it’s clear that he worked hard to get recognition.

I'm not the world's biggest fan, but have been to about 30 shows! This was an intensely personal look at one of my favourite artists, with lots of good stories about how he became a rock star. He's become a bit of a liberal icon, and I would have enjoyed hearing more of his political views. But, at the end of the day, he's a rock star, not a politician. It's very well-written, and even the casual fan will recognize that distinctive voice. Enjoy!

Approached with the same integrity and seriousness of purpose Springsteen brings to all his endeavors.

Hands down, the best autobiography I've read in a very long time! I've been a Springsteen fan for years and was really excited to hear he had a book coming out about his life and career. He's very thorough without being boring and he does make you feel like you're there with him from birth to today! He is a true Rock Poet (maybe even bigger than Bob Dylan!)! And this book will not disappoint. Please read it if you have the chance. 5 STARS!

I'm a so so Bruce fan. Have seen him in concert once. Thought it was a great live show. Liked his albums and singles, but never bought one. This book is epic. He's a beautiful writer. The kind of writing I wish Elvis Costello had accomplished in his recent memoir. I'm almost purely a reader of non-fiction. This is one of the few autobiographies I've read in a long time that actually had insight and reflection. Bruce was not afraid to tell the truth, even if it did not put him in the best light. This is rare indeed. Further, he has thought long and hard about the people around him and shares some beautiful thoughts. There were so many beautiful lines, even amid the rough story of his life. I'm now ravenously listening to Bruce's entire catalog. Knowing his story makes each song come to light. You don't have to be a diehard Bruce fan to love this book. 500 pages and I still wanted more! Bruuuuuuuuuce!
