The "Dark Series" of Carpathian's is a great vampire series and although all 30 books are not in this library so far I have been able to get those not via the Lending Library system....if not sure just ask. The books are all great and even if your not reading in order they are still great though they are better in order as do mention some prior book history and some are very sequelled to others. Great series and well worth the read for more adult say 16+ years old (as yes there is sex in some few parts).

Feehan books are one of my guilty pleasures. They always follow the same formula but it works! I recommend these if you just want to escape for a bit to a land of vampires, Carpathians, and a few steamy scenes.

Dark Ghost could ALMOST be read as a stand-alone novel--Dark Promises is its direct sequel-- as none of the other characters from the Dark series are in this book. I am greatly addicted to this series...and I DO recommend reading the Dark series in order starting with "Dark Prince" as it would be hard to understand characters--such as Gregori or Zacarias--without doing so. Also, you must read Dark Ghost before you read Dark Promises, as Dark Promises is a ...very direct...sequel to Dark Ghost. Would LUV to meet these Carpathians...IF...I had the nerve... Also, I enjoyed the romance between Teagan and her Carpathian lifemate, Andre. I would recommend reading Christine Feehan's Dark Crimes in Edge of Darkness, before reading Dark Ghost but that's not in the CML system, as of yet.

I agree with other commenters that there was a LOT of repetition, not only of her reaction to him saying her name, but also many other aspects.

The whole series is getting increasingly formulaic and the ending was quite abrupt.

I STRONGLY disliked the rock-climbing part--it sounded like someone else wrote it in another language. Bad, bad form.

I agree with cmn1. I have loved Feehans novels from book 1. And NEVER have I been disappointed, until this novel. I'd read comments from another of Feehans novels where someone had mentioned her repeating the same thing repeatedly, OMG! This was one of them and it drove me nuts! There were actually 2 and since I totally forgot to show "completed" as well as add a comment until like 3 days later ( cries) I may mess them up, but, one was when Andre would say Teagans name. It was silk and something, EVERY SINGLE TIME. The other was when Andre would say something really sweet to Teagan and she'd always reply how it "melted her heart". I wanted to reach in and rip the stupid thing out! And the silk thing was even worse. Maybe Feehan needs to take a break, OR, listen to her fans better. I can normally read one of her novels in a day or less, even working as I do. But it took me almost a week just to get to chapter 2. For me, it didn't even get good until Andre went after the vampire. That was the BEST part of the whole novel. C'mon Feehan, wake up and listen to your fans. I'm sure we're not the only ones disappointed with this novel. On a happier note, the picture of "Andre" on the front of the novel was HOT HOT HOT!! I'm gonna ask Santa for a Carpathian for Christmas! wooohoooo Yummy! I feel horrible but I am only giving this a half star. And that's a first for me on her novels. I can't say however I wouldn't recommend it, what I will say is be prepared to be bored off and on, mostly on, until you get to about the 15th chapter or so. I did enjoy Teagans "college friends" payback, but other than that, there's not much excitement until closer to the end. Even the sex wasn't as good as she usual puts out there. Hey! I'm open-minded :D Happy Reading!

The book was just OK. There were a couple potential story lines but they never went anywhere. Same as the last 20+ books: man meets lifemate, converts her and kills a couple vampires. Yawn.

I absolutely love Chrisitine Feehan's Carpathian series. This story had me almost in tears a few times and laughing other times. It would kind of drag with all the sex scenes but the thing that really upset me, was the way that the story ended. I don't want to give anything away, but it was very disappointing ending. I am hoping that the next book will answer some of my questions that I now have.
