You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious. Except . . . here's how books work. Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. Even if the words say . . . BLORK. Or BLUURF. Even if the words are a preposterous song about eating ants for breakfast, or just a list of astonishingly goofy sounds like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and GLIBBITY GLOBBITY. Cleverly irreverent and irresistibly silly, The Book with No Pictures is one that kids will beg to hear again and again. (And parents will be happy to oblige.)

Think kids won't be interested in a book without pictures? They will be if that book makes their adult say the funniest things while reading to them!

REALLY FUNNY. Made me laugh so hard I couldn’t stop!

This book is definitely for those parents who want story time to be a bit of a "performance" for their child. As the book has no pictures, it utilizes text to make the reader say silly things. The best way to include your child is through dramatic interpretation of the text provided. It depends a lot on the reader, so it can be a little hard to read, but it can be fun depending on how the reader decides to read.

I wasn’t sure how my toddler would respond to this book, but we gave it a try anyhow. It had us laughing when I had to say silly a bunch of silly words. The dialogue was missed on him a bit, but I would do anything to hear him laugh, so bookmarking this one for another read down the road.

Every kid loves having this book read to them, as long as you follow the rules of reading aloud and do exactly as the book says. So fun!
