I cannot recommend this graphic novel enough--it's one of my all-time favorites! The coloring is gorgeous, the retro art style is fantastic, and the story is phenomenal. This is for those who like subversive heroines who love high heels and are secretly assassins.

I stumbled upon this book as it was in the featured section in the library and I really enjoyed it. It has a really interesting foreword and perspective on female killers and the main character is refreshingly honest and confronts men who don’t believe she can handle multiple responsibilities in her life. Hers are different than many as they include killing but nonetheless she kicks gender roles in the ass. Not to mention the art is gory, vivid, and visually stunning. I really love the chapter intros with nods to old advertisements as well.

Nice drawings and decent story line.

Kitschy, macabre, and everything you could want from a story about a housewife assassin! And it is all because of the sheer brilliance of Joelle Jones as a visual storyteller. She creates the kind of story that feels like it's just opening up your skull and dumping itself into your brain- no thinking required.

Mildly interesting, decent art. Not very realistic; the heroine routinely fights with only knives and somehow able to kill dozens of men with guns with nary a scratch.

Great artwork on a well-written self contained story. Surprised to like this one more than I expected. Particularily violent though.

Violence: This graphic novel is very gory and visually descriptive so the squeamish should beware!
