In the breathtaking fifth and final book in Rick Riordan's #1 best-selling Heroes of Olympus series, the Greek and Roman demigods must simultaneously prevent Gaea from waking and stop war from breaking out at Camp Half-Blood.
Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen--all of them--and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood--the blood of Olympus--in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants?
As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

This book is the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series, and it is absolutely unforgettable. I loved this book so much, and have reread it so many times. I recommend this book to anyone who has read the other books in the Heroes of Olympus series “The Lost Hero”, “The Son of Neptune”, “The Mark of Athena”, and “The House of Hades”. If you are interested in Greek mythology, you should definitely read this series, as it is based of it. If you enjoyed this series, you should continue reading the rest of the series in the Camp Half-Blood collection by Rick Riordan. -@teen_reader19 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

With the final battle with Gaea closing in and the two camps gearing up for war with each other, it seems all is lost. Reyna, Nico, and Coach Hedge, who are carrying the statue of Pallas Athena to give as a gift, are facing challenges of old enemies and Nico’s shadow travel distance limit. Even when they prevail, what good will a statue do? Will it really cause the two camps to fight together to beat Gaea? Unfortunately, the prophecy does not give them a clear path and leaves them to solve it through their own power. This book was a good conclusion to the Heroes of Olympus series. Although Percy did not have as big a role as in the first series, he still completed the hardest and most important task and was an invaluable member of the seven. This book gave a satisfying conclusion to Percy and Annabeth’s story, as well as many other characters introduced in the two series. I believe that this may be why none of them ever take a significant role in any of the other books in the Percy Jackson universe. Ages 12+

The Blood of Olympus was a great book. It is probably the second best book in the series. The one I like the most, is probably the House of Hades. The Blood of Olympus contains many peoples perspective and you can learn a lot about characters for example: Reyna's past or Gleeson Hedge knew how to contact Pegasus! The book comes with lots of mysteries and action. The part I liked in this book, was rather the fight against the giants in Athens or the fight at Camp Half-Blood. This book is great! :)

The Blood of Olympus is the last novel in the series, and it's sad to see it come to a close. That's the last documented journey of the seven, and our original hero Percy Jackson. The ending kind of disappointed me honestly, but otherwise I'm happy with how it all played out.

Rick Riordan’s The Blood of Olympus is the fifth and final instalment in the Heroes of Olympus series. Percy Jackson fans will not be disappointed by this epic finale as Percy and his friends make their final stand against Gaea. I thoroughly enjoyed the complexity of the plot and the character development throughout the story. Each chapter is narrated by a different member of the Argo II crew and readers can see how each character’s mind is influenced and how they change during their quest, rather than the entire story being told from one perspective. My favourite example of character development from the book is the evolution of Nico and Reyna’s unlikely friendship. As they grow closer, Nico finally begins to open up about himself. The only thing that took away from this book was the slight lack of detail in the quest to bring the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood. The characters make reference to embarrassing situations that occurred throughout their journey, but then never discuss them. The reader is left with not even a hint of what might have happened. Overall, I would recommend this book and give it an overall rating of 4.5/5 stars.

This is by far one of my favorite books of all time. To think that when I was given The Lightning Thief that i didn't want to read it! Now Rick Riordan is one of my favorite authors, with the Heroes of Olympus as one of my favorite book series. There are so many good parts in this book, but I wont spoil anything, you will have to find out for yourself.

About a quarter way through and already love it! I’m looking forward to Solango (My friends accidentally spoiled Nico’s love life) and the battle coming up! Also looking forward to trials of Apollo and all the books to come (Though his cliffhangers suck)!

"Kill the demigods!" Kekrops hissed.
Before many of his warriors could follow, Hazel pointed her blade at the nearest tunnel. The ground rumbled. The tunnels collapsed, billowing plumes of dust. Kekrops looked around at his army, now reduced to six guys.
"Slither away!"

Jason's laugh literally cleared the air. "Pontifex. It means priest."

This book is outstanding... To keep the goddess Gaea from waking, the 7 half-bloods known as Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Piper, Jason, and Leo need to fight what seems like all the monsters you could ever imagine. But, in the meantime Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge are bringing the Athena Parthenos back to camp to prevent Gaea from rising there and maybe prevent war between the Greek and Roman half-bloods.
