Eoin Colfer has made millions of fans around the world with his much-loved character, Artemis Fowl, the star of his hugely best-selling series. Now, in a beautifully written novel that is already breaking records in his native Ireland, Colfer introduces readers to a lovable but troubled heroine, who has been given the opportunity for a special kind of redemption.
Meg Finn is in trouble-unearthly trouble. Cast out of her home by her stepfather after her mother's death, Meg is a wanderer, a troublemaker. But after her latest stunt, finding a place to sleep is the least of her worries. Belch, her partner in crime, has gotten her involved in the attempted robbery of an elderly man, Lowrie McCall. And things go horribly wrong. After an accidental explosion, Meg's spirit is flung into limbo, and a race begins between the demonic and the divine to win her soul.
Irreverent, hilarious, and touchingly hopeful, The Wish List takes readers on a journey of second chances, where joy is found in the most unexpected places.

"After her first attempted robbery goes horribly wrong, newly dead 14-year-old Meg Finn poses a problem for the administrators of the afterlife: she's lived a life that's been split straight down the middle between good and evil, so no one knows whether to send her to heaven or hell. Instead, they send Meg back to Earth to give her a chance to either save or condemn herself. Fans of Irish author Eoin Colfer's wicked sense of humour in the Artemis Fowl books should enjoy this quick, entertaining story, which, while mostly hilarious and irreverent, packs a surprising emotional punch in the end." This book was amazing! the idea is interesting and the witty banter made me laugh out loud several times (which earned me some weird looks).

The story is about Meg Finn, who dies after she saves an old man she was robbing from her "partner", Belch, who died along with her. Afterwards, she has to come back to earth to help the old man she robbed fulfill his Wish List, a list of things he wants to do before he dies of the heart disease that's taken hold of his life. Unfortunately, Satan wants her soul, so he sends Belch back to make sure she fails in her quest.

Unbelievably funny, anyone and everyone should read it!

I liked the idea behind this whole book. Decided to try it one day because I loved the Artemis Fowl series. It was a good read.
