Lone Wolf and Burger
I’m a big Bob’s Burgers fan. It’s a top ten show for me. I own all the seasons (and the delightful soundtrack to boot). We quote it (and often sing it) almost daily at my household. Heck, this isn’t even the first time I’m writing about it. An all time great episode is the fifth season’s “Hawk & Chick.” The central plot involves the Belchers reconnecting an aging actor with his estranged… (more)
July 4th Burger Blues
The Fourth of July was a tough holiday for me. It’s not a lack of patriotism, if that’s what you’re thinking. It’s the barbecues. You’d think I’d have gotten used to not eating meat after so long, but man. Just thinking about some nice grilled hamburgers gets me ready to abandon a decade’s worth of vegetarianism. Add a CommentThe FOX show Bob's Burgers is very funny, and the humor is quirky and dry. Though it is an animated series, the content is most appropriate for adults; I think it would be okay for teens as well. So far I've watched the first two seasons, and I enjoyed the second season even more than the first. Seasons 1 and 2 are shorter than typical major U.S. network seasons, with 13 and 9 episodes, respectively. The additional seasons each have 19 or more episodes.
Irreverent is the word I would use to describe BOB'S BURGERS. An adorable little show, BOB'S BURGERS examines family life without feeling like the family is nagging at you. Expert voice talent will do that for you. Kristen Schaal and H. Jon Benjamin are two such actors. I adore every character here and every single one of them feels real. I loved the first season of BOB'S BURGERS, especially the episode where Bob goes inside the wall, and I eagerly anticipate more of the same.
Better than show "A" that relies on cultural references as opposed to actual funny writing OR
show "B" where only gimmick episodes or guest stars pass for entertainment. Can you guess to which two long-running animated shows
I am referencing?
